What is a V-Steam?

V-Steaming, or Peristeam Hydrotherapy, is a therapy in which aromatic herbs are steeped in hot water to create a steam. The steam carries the essential oils and other beneficial compounds of the herbs upwards to your perineum delivering the therapeutic actions of the plants.

That means you can steam to balance and regulate your period, reduce cramping and heavy flow, improve fertility, and reduce the complications of fibroids and endometriosis, to name a few of steaming’s wide applications.

What to Expect During your steam

Before steaming you’ll fill out an intake and screening form to make sure that steaming is appropriate for you and to determine which herbs will be most beneficial to your current situation and condition. If steaming is appropriate, I’ll prepare your herbs while you relax on my heated table.

If you’d like to include acupuncture or auricular therapy, this will happen while your herbs are cooking.

When your herbs are ready, you’ll be given privacy to drape yourself and move to the steam chair. You’ll be fully covered during your session.

When your session is complete, we’ll go over your steam plan together and I’ll answer any questions you have about the treatment.
