About Laura Schultz, L.Ac.

Hi. I’m Laura and I want you to feel better.

I’ve been in the health and wellness industry for over 20 years - starting my career as a Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP is the certification level for a massage therapist with over 1000 hours of training) from the Heartwood Institute of Healing Arts in Northern California in 2003.

As an HHP I worked in a variety of settings from small, boutique spas to the Aviara Resort spa when it was managed by the Four Seasons.

Through my training as a Holistic Health Practitioner I was exposed to many facets of holistic health and healing. I became especially interested in nutritional therapy and herbal medicine. While there were many books and workshops offered on these topics, there were very few certification programs or avenues of formal study.

When I discovered Acupuncture school, I was excited to find a degree program that brought together bodywork, herbal medicine, and nutritional therapy - as well as biomedical training.

After four years of study, I earned my Master of Science, Traditional Oriental Medicine degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (now Pacific College of Health and Science), passed the California licensing exam, and National Certification tests to become a Licensed Acupuncturist.

I also had a baby.

My first daughter was born a few months after I graduated in 2012 and I have since then been balancing my acupuncture practice and motherhood.

I now have two daughters and continue to value both my clinical work and my ability to be home with them as much as I am - homeschooling and caring for our little suburban homestead.

Professionally, I continue to pursue my interests across the scope of holistic health and wellness with continued studies in herbal medicine, nutrition, natural fertility, prenatal and postpartum care, pain relief and management, and the power of meditation and mindfulness practices.

My goal as a practitioner is to provide therapies that are effective and enjoyable, and to share with you the tools and practices you can use outside of the clinic to cultivate long term, sustainable health for yourself and your children.
